Making coffee is an art, and there are a million ways to do it. There’s the pour-over method, the French press, cold brew, iced coffee…the list goes on.
But what if you’re in a hurry and don’t have time for all that? Or, you don’t have the required devices at your disposal? Well, in this case, as long as you have a microwave, you can still make coffee!
But how to make coffee in the microwave? I asked my barista friend how she makes coffee in the microwave and here’s what she said…
How To Make Coffee In The Microwave? 3 Easy Steps!!
Step – 1
“The first thing you need to do is gather your supplies. You’ll need a cup, coffee grounds, water, milk (optional), and a microwave-safe mug. We like to use a big mug because it holds a lot of coffee and it has a handle so it’s easy to hold.
Step – 2
Next, you’ll want to add your coffee grounds to the mug. We like to use about 2 tablespoons worth, but you can adjust this depending on how strong you like your coffee. Once the coffee grounds are in, add your water. Fill the mug until the water reaches just below the rim of the mug.
Step – 3
Now it’s time to microwave! Stick your mug of joe in the microwave and set the timer for 2 minutes. If you like your coffee with milk, now would be the time to add it. After 2 minutes, take your coffee out of the microwave and enjoy!”
Note: If you have a filter, we recommend you use it (before and after the brewing). Just because you’re using the microwave to brew and heat up the coffee doesn’t mean your coffee experience has to be lowered from your usual routine.
Conclusion
There you have it! A quick and easy way to make coffee using nothing but your microwave. Will this be the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had? Probably not. But if you’re in a pinch and need a caffeine kick ASAP, then this barista-approved method will do the trick.
