1. Add ice cubes: This one is a no-brainer. Simply add a few ice cubes to your cup of coffee and stir until they melt. Note: if you’re using a frappe or other cold brew coffee, make sure to leave room for the ice so your drink doesn’t overflow when you add it in!
2. Put it in the fridge: If you’re in a hurry, stick your cup of coffee in the fridge for 5-10 minutes. Just be careful not to forget about it, or you’ll end up with an iced coffee instead!
3. Blow on it: Swirling hot liquid around in a cup is pretty much impossible without making a mess, but blowing on your coffee will help cool it down quickly without making too much of a mess.
4. Dip it in cold water: This one works best if you have a metal or ceramic mug. Simply fill up a sink with cold water and dip the bottom of your mug in for 30 seconds or so. The cold water will help pull the heat away from the bottom of your mug and into the water, cooling down your coffee more quickly. Just be careful not to let the water level get too high—you don’t want your coffee getting watered down!
